Saudi Arabia at the time of prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) was a very progressive society. His first wife was a famous business entrepreneur. Women had greater share of role in social reconstruction. With the passage of time, all shattered one by one.
Islam is now reduced to only five times of prayer and strict code of hijab. Well! Prayer does have a place in Islam, so does veil. But the dynamic scope of Islamic message goes far beyond what has been confined to.
Islam is more about peace than about war, Islam is more about tolerance than about fanaticism, Islam is more about education than about ignorance, Islam is more about science than about dogmatism and so on.
But sadly you will notice none of them in most of the Muslim countries. They are but following pseudo-Islam…Islam looked through their own narrow prism, thus the reason for the community to remain behind in every sphere.
