‘The result of Bihar Assembly Election in favor of Grand Alliance led by Nitish Kumar is like oxygen being provided to Muslims’ expressed Mohammad Majeed, a Lecturer of Computer Science in Libya. He resumed: ‘We felt suffocated at the idea of BJP coming to power in Bihar’.
Truly, the way BJP embarked upon naked embrace of hate campaign against Muslims, there was reason for the minority community to fear from the political attainment of BJP in the state.
Instead of giving hope to millions of electorates in the state about better educational facilities, health care and employment opportunities, Modi-led election campaign made communalism, intolerance and beef ban an agenda of poisoning the innocent mind.
Both Hindus and Muslims have rejected the communal agenda of BJP by displaying an exceptional degree of consensus and brotherhood. The Bihar election result acknowledges that majority of Hindus and Muslims are liberal.
The clear mandate for the Grand Alliance of the Janata Dal (United), the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress in Bihar is a vote against all forms of divisive politics of communal hate.
Communal harmony and peace is a virtue that is desired not just by the minorities but also by the backward classes and Dalits. The BJP’s retrograde policies have received a firm rejection in Bihar.
